Cornish Summer Escapades at Court Farm
Here in Cornwall, the spring is in full flow as the weather is gradually warming, the hedgerows are full of displays that a fireworks party would be jealous of and the beautiful, bountiful produce that Cornwall has to offer starts to fill our plates again.
It is also that time of year when we are all starting to dream of our summer holidays and what spectacular staycations are available to us in 2023, and frankly, we don’t think there are many better places than the north coast of Cornwall.
Of course, we are totally biased and it would be understandable if you didn’t believe us, however, if you haven’t been to visit us here in North Cornwall before, you are sure to be in for the treat of your life.
In this post, we will be espousing the glories that this spectacular area of the southwest has to offer in the summer and what you might do if you decide to take the break of a lifetime with us here at Court Farm.
North Cornish Staycations
At Court Farm, we are lucky enough to be able to offer our guests a plethora of luxury accommodation choices in one of the best spots in the southwest.
If you can bear to drag yourself away from our superb self-catering accommodation, Cornwall has so much to offer any type of holidaymaker, from some of the best beaches in England to amazing art and culture, and some of the tastiest produce you will ever treat your tastebuds to.
Outdoor Escapades – Bodmin Moor
One of our favourite things to do in North Cornwall is to explore the beauty of Bodmin moor with our families and our dogs by our side and with over 200 square kilometres of space to roam in, you’ll be sure to never get bored! If you feel like being challenged why not try climbing the peaks of Roughtor and Brown Willy (steady..!) and experience some of the perfect panoramas Bodmin Moor has to offer.

Coast Path Capers
The coast path in Cornwall is famous across the country for offering some of the most glorious walks in the land. And we think our stretch on the North Cornwall coast is some of the best, with its breathtaking vistas, fabulous countryside and cliffs that need to be seen to be believed.
Here at Court Farm, we are lucky enough to be in prime position to walk a number of coastal routes, whether that be adventuring up the coast into Devon, or walking south to the beautiful Crackington Haven (and beyond if you’re feeling very adventurous!)
Lanhydrock House & Gardens
If you like your outside adventures to include an indoor space and a cream tea that’s never too far away, why not take your family to explore the resplendent Lanhydrock.
This magnificent late Victorian country house and estate, run by the National Trust, has a plethora of family-friendly things to do, alongside acres of space to exhaust even the most energetic of companions.
Amazing Arts
If you want to have a day of relaxation and culture during your stay in North Cornwall, why not take a trip down to St.Ives and take a look around the Tate St. Ives which includes the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gardens. Alternatively, you could spend an evening being regaled with music, theatre, poetry or dance in a cliffside auditorium that overlooks the Atlantic at The Minack, near lands End. Both of these wonderful cultural excursions are less than a two-hour drive from our luxury accommodation at Court Farm Holidays.
Hot Tubs and Relaxation
After a long day filling yourself with some cornish culture why not retire to one of our eight properties that come with a private hot tub or book yourself in for a spectacular spa treatment with our local therapist Vicky.
Delicious Things For Self Catered Cottages in Cornwall
One of the best things about being in Cornwall, in our eyes, is the fabulous food culture we have all around us. Whether it’s spectacular seafood, formidable farm shops or perfect places to eat, North Cornwall has it all.
For local seafood caught fresh daily and perfect for creating a culinary masterpiece in your self-catering cottage at Court Farm, there’s no better place than the Beach House Shop in Widemouth Bay. Even better, it’s less than a ten-minute drive away from our Maramchurch base.

On top of all this, Boscastle Farm Shop do local deliveries, so you could get your groceries delivered straight to your Court Farm door.
